All of the trees are from imagination.  

It is about the tree and nothing more.  

Not it’s environment nor the Earth in which it lives,

simply the tree.  

The pen and ink are on 16 x 20 smooth Bristol board.  

It is first envisioned in the mind’s eye,

then sketched out in pencil.  

It is then “inked” with a ball point pen.   

They are based on images seen in nature,

books, magazines or dreams. 

Idealized, they are what we would like to see,

not what actually exists. 

Labor intensive, a tree can take anywhere from

3 months to a year to complete.
